Robotics learning
See the ideas behind the motion.
A robot drawing with a pen makes planning visible. For robotics learners and educators, CorkBot offers a way to examine how a scanned workspace, prepared artwork and user approval lead to a physical result. Begin with the current drawing workflow and a question you can observe.
Follow the chain
From a surface to a drawing path.
A physical drawing connects several ideas that are easy to discuss separately: the shape of the work area, the position of the artwork and the motion of the pen. CorkBot’s current phone workflow brings those ideas together around a task you can inspect.
The AI retrieves saved artwork, scans the workspace, builds a surface mesh and places the drawing. A mesh represents a surface geometrically. Placement relates the artwork to that surface. You then review and accept the prepared plot before the machine executes it.
The workflow guide explains the complete sequence. Following each stage gives learners a concrete question to ask: what information does this step need, and what decision does it prepare for the next one?
An observation activity
Compare the plan with the pen.
Use a simple saved design and a suitable test surface. Keep the activity focused on observation: describe the intended result, inspect the prepared plot and compare that plan with the physical drawing.
- Sketch where you expect the artwork to sit on the item.
- Follow the scan, surface preparation and placement sequence.
- At review, compare the intended position, orientation and scale with the prepared plot.
- After acceptance and drawing, compare the physical marks with your original expectation.
Record a full view and a close detail, with notes about the artwork, pen and surface. Discuss what changed between the idea, the prepared plan and the drawing. This activity uses the current preparation workflow without requiring an assumed programming interface.
Evaluate your learning setup
Match the robot to the activity.
CorkBot’s folding form, carry handle and transport case make it movable between workspaces. It has integrated battery power and can also run plugged in. The current pen configuration provides a visible physical outcome from a planned movement.
Before choosing it for a group or course, compare the final launch package and software requirements with the activity you want to run. Plan how participants will view the preparation, discuss the review step and inspect the result.
Future modules are in development. Base your first activity on the current drawing workflow and the equipment included in the announced package.
Your questions
For learners and educators.
Does it include a course or curriculum?
This page offers an observation activity. A course library, standards-aligned curriculum and classroom certification are not announced as part of the launch package.
Can I program it through an SDK or ROS?
Programming interfaces and integrations have not been announced here. Check the final software details against your requirements; available releases are on the downloads page.
What does the learner control in the AI workflow?
The user supplies the saved artwork and physical project, then reviews and accepts the prepared plot before drawing. The AI handles the retrieval, scan, meshing and placement sequence.
